I'm still struggling for time but I feel more in control of things. I have two questions on my mind:
1, What's a Hurdy-Gurdy? (maybe I should google that)
2, What can I do to earn money and still do illustration work?(it's the transition I'm having trouble with!)

I'm on the case for sorting out monsters...

I think I'm in a bit of a lull, nights and mornings are all dark and cold, I seem to be in the early stages of the lurgey, and I'm just plain tired.

More happy thought another day.

Chinese food and laziness

Ah hot and sour chicken, it does me in!

I've relaxed to the point of leaning back in a comfy chair with my hands resting on my full belly. I should however be sketching ideas for page layouts. I'm also considering changing my website.

I still need monsters too, maybe I should start a campaign!

Ok I only almost got lost once

I loved my adventure into London, I was really proud of myself for getting all the right trains at the right times. I only got a little confused on the way back when I just followed the crowd when I got off the tube at Green Park and almost ended up getting on the Jubilee line instead of the Victoria... What a faux par! I'm such a London amateur.
It was well worth the journey though - I feel more focused, some of what was said confirmed what I already knew, and other bits made me think - bugger, I've got a lot of work to do.
A lot of work and such little time!

  1. Must draw more
  2. See above
  3. Must get better at self promotion
  4. Must get better at being able to talk infront of a room of people
  5. Must draw more...

London, here I come

Tomorrow I'll be going to London to the 'Looking at Children's Books conference' at the RCA. I can't wait... It'll be a bit of a trek - trains and tubs and not actually knowing where I'm going but it should be worth it.
I'm most looking forward to hearing Sara Fanelli talk, she's a bit of a hero of mine.
The plan is to come away all fired up and ready for action... I'll get back to you on that one.

Well I've been negative all day today, went to uni and winged. It's all dark and wet outside and I'm just plain tired.

However I'm on a mission to get as many people as possible to draw me a monster, can't tell you why yet but I need as many as I can get my hands on.

I'm so slack

I can't believe I'm only just getting round to adding to this blog thingy.

Life is hectic, and time seems to be moving a little fast for my liking. I feel a bit dizzy really, keep forgetting stuff. Lost £20 yesterday, don't know where - didn't spend ititt just disappeared!

And why is life hectic? Well I've gone back to Uni to do a Masters in Visual Communicationn at UCE in Birmingham. I also work four days a week at Schools Library Service in Warwick, and spend some of my time living in Cov the rest in Kenilworth.

The result of this bizarre set of circumstances is that I'm almost always traveling between one of these four places, or working in the office, illustrating or sitting in lectures.

I've become illusive and mysterious to my friends, mainly because I rarely return their phonecalls, and if I do meet up with them I'm generally late or have to leave early.

Must slow things down, but don't have time.
